About Us

Duties of the Council include managing the grower’s investment and creating a check off for the sale of dry peas and lentils, to determine the how funds raised by the assessment are spent.  Areas selected are research, education programs, market development, and participation in programs sponsored by the U.S. Dry Pea and Lentil Council. An assessment of one per cent of net value is levied on peas and lentils grown in North Dakota and sold to a first purchaser.

Key Partners

The North Dakota Dry Pea & Lentil Council doesn't work alone. Checkoff dollars collected here are distributed to two key partner organizations that extend the Council's reach far beyond the state.

Northern Pulse Growers Association

Represents dry pea, lentil, chickpea, lupin, and fava bean growers across North Dakota and Montana. A 10-person board allocates funds toward marketing, research, government affairs, and education across the region.

USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council

North Dakota holds two seats on the USADPLC board, giving our growers a direct voice in international market development, government affairs, and national research coordination.
